Ready to hike out tomorrow. Head part way up Hope Pass to start out the Collegiate West! Catch up with Aron out there and possibly be joined by another lady we met through FB for part of the Labor Day weekend as well. Looking forward to it! Here we come Monarch Pass, Salida and mile 200!!
Cinnamon rolls and fruit for breakfast!
Movie on TV
Repackaged and filled in my supplies from my box I sent myself here
Did laundry….my clothes and sleeping bag liner now smell subtly of fish. Great for hiking. Right. At least they smell different than they did! I must have had one of my fish oil pills in a pocket that I didn’t realize was there. Such a stupid mistake!
More movies on tv
Ice cream and a bit of a stomach ache…
Blog posts, FB and Instagram
Talked with Casey!
Rested as much as I could! It was great! So worth the long day yesterday!
Fun Story… So when I got here the evening before the lady who owns the motel we are in was relieved that we were staying inside at these low elevations because the bear population is really ramping up at the lower altitudes scavenging for winter. She says they are raiding the town dumpsters and back yards and becoming more active. Great. I choose not to contemplate hiking on with a fish clothes and sleeping bag liner. On the bright side I will be no lower than 11,000ft for many days now. The bears are gonna have to brave the cold to find me.
