Long story short. I am planning a late Aug-Sep hike of the Colorado Trail for 2014. A little late to be planning you say? Well, I’m not going to argue with you on that one. But if this is my chance I’m going to jump on it.
Not really sure when I heard about the Colorado Trail, but the idea of doing a long trail has been capturing my imagination for quite awhile now. Probably about 10 years maybe a little longer. I am a stalker of long distance hiker blogs, websites, and videos. I did a NOLS course a few years ago with the excuse that “I was getting my WFR certification” – and I did, but the 25 days spent in the wilderness of Montana was something I’ll never forget.
So my plan is to start Sep 1 and hike until the 24th of Sep. I have hiked sections 4-6, so I may skip those.
So, like Bilbo says,”It’s a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don’t keep your feet, there’s no knowing where you might be swept to”. I’m excited!!
